I recently came across a great little project, dragon, which is a simple drag-and-drop source/sink for X11. This project follows the Unix concept of do one thing and do it well. The program was designed for users who do not use a graphical file manager, but want to be able to drag and drop files (into a web browser, for example). It has minimal dependencies, and is a breeze to compile and install and use. My contributions to the project include the packaging recipes for dpkg and rpm.
